Sgt. Bryce Daniel Howard, 24, died August 28, 2007. He was born December 3, 1982, in Portland, OR, to Dean and Annette Howard. Bryce lived most of his life in Battle Ground and Vancouver, WA, where he met his wife, Amber. They were married on December 14, 2001. Bryce joined the Army in January 2002. He attended Basic Training and AIT at Fort Leonard Wood, MO. He served in South Korea before being assigned to Fort Lewis, WA where he served in the 864th Engineer Construction Battalion. Bryce was killed while deployed on his second tour in Afghanistan. In his spare time he enjoyed spending time with his family, riding his motorcycle and playing basketball. Survivors include his wife, Amber; sons: Caleb (7) and Ryen (3); parents, Dean and Annette Howard; sister, Casey Howard; and brother, James Howard. A viewing will be held September 5, 2007, 10:00am, followed by a memorial service at 12:30pm, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Burial, with full military honors, will be at Willamette National Cemetery
